Lotus F1 Team announced, via a press release, an extension of its partnership with Microsoft Corporation. Following the successful implementation of the first phase of Microsoft Dynamics at the Enstone factory in 2012, the current contract has been extended from two to four years.
The Microsoft Dynamics branding will continue to appear with the Lotus F1 Team, on the 2013 car, as well as on the drivers’ suits and team members’ attire. Microsoft Dynamics will remain directly involved in the ongoing work reorganization process both at Enstone and on track.
Patrick Louis, General Director of Lotus F1 Team, explains: « It’s fantastic for Lotus F1 Team to strengthen its relationship with Microsoft. This dynamic response illustrates the esteem they have for our work. Through the implementation of Microsoft Dynamics at Enstone, we are evaluating every aspect of our working methods, and the improvements in efficiency allow us to be more competitive on the track. We have seen the fruits of our partnership in 2012 with phase one of the project. Phase two is already well underway. Extending the commitment and partnership with Microsoft Dynamics at least until the end of 2016 is particularly appreciable in the current economic climate. »
As an official partner in the transformation of Lotus F1 Team’s work in 2012, we witnessed exhilarating moments, admits Christian Pedersen, Director of Microsoft Dynamics ERP.
« This is true both at the factory, where the implementation of phase one of the operation launched by Microsoft Dynamics and Lotus F1 Team was completed in record time, and on the track where the results and exposure exceeded our expectations. We can proudly say that this partnership with Lotus F1 Team offers the best demonstration to our current and future clients. We are excited to strengthen our ties and eager to see the fruition of this hard work through even better results in 2013. »
Microsoft’s Dynamics subsidiary offers customer relationship management (CRM) solutions as well as ERP solutions. This allows the Lotus F1 Team to be assisted in managing operations related to marketing, finance, accounting, manufacturing, project management, and all other business processes in the supply chain.
In recent years, many teams have implemented this type of partnership, providing visibility to providers and significant savings in time and money to the benefiting teams. McLaren-Mercedes, for example, has showcased its partnership with SAP, another CRM and ERP company, since last year.
