Sauber benefits from the support of loyal partners. Among them is the watch brand Certina, which has decided to extend a partnership that has already lasted eight seasons.

Certina extends the adventure with Sauber

Arrival for the first time alongside Peter Sauber’s team in 2005, Certina has decided to renew its agreement. This had already been extended at the beginning of the 2011 season when Peter Sauber became the owner of his team again after BMW’s withdrawal.

Following this new agreement, the visibility of the Swiss brand’s logo will be identical to that which it has enjoyed since 2011, appearing on the visors of the helmets worn by Nico Hülkenberg and Esteban Gutiérrez, as well as on the aerodynamic deflectors of their cars. All the personnel of the Swiss team will also receive watches from the brand to ensure their visibility in the paddocks.

Adrian Bosshard, the president of Certina, thus stated: « After an eight-year partnership with the Sauber F1 team, we are delighted to continue using the innovative and dynamic platform of Formula One. The professional ethics and its typically Swiss mindset align perfectly with our brand. »

However, the Swatch Group subsidiary has not yet implemented the same strategy as Casio has with Red Bull, namely producing limited series in the team’s colors. This could be a point of consideration as Swatch Group’s major rival, Rolex, will become the official chronograph of F1 starting from the 2013 season.
