Saturday: Charles Pic must continue to advance Marussia in Monaco
While Timo Glock has managed to find good settings on his Marussia, Charles Pic is still struggling on the Monaco circuit. The Frenchman will start for the first time this season behind an HRT. He will have 78 laps to catch up with his teammate tomorrow and take advantage of the opportunities during a Grand Prix he considers unpredictable...
Timo Glock – 20th and 20th (19th on the grid):
« I think it’s a good day for me. This morning during practice, I was able to work optimally and we were able to fine-tune good settings. With the team, we worked all weekend to properly prepare the car. We made small changes between this morning and this afternoon, and I am even more comfortable with the car. After Perez’s incident and the red flag, the work was even more difficult since we only had time for a single stint on super-soft tires right in the middle of the traffic. »
« So I am satisfied with this result and I thank the engineers for setting up the car optimally for a fast lap. Now, I am focusing on tomorrow’s race and I am sure it will be a very exciting Grand Prix. I was happy to see Mike Rockenfeller – DTM driver – visit us before the qualifying. A nice surprise to see him. »
Charles Pic – 22nd and 22nd (21st on the grid):
«In fact, it was not a good qualifying session for me. Our pace here in Monaco is worse than in Barcelona. I also encountered traffic during my fast lap, so not a very good day. We need to focus on the race and see what we can improve. We know that sometimes in Monaco there are opportunities. We have to do our best and seize them if they arise during the race.»
