No F1 for Alguersuari in 2012
Thanked by Toro Rosso, the Catalan seems to have given up on F1 for the upcoming season.
Without a seat for the 2012 season after being ousted by Jean-Eric Vergne and Daniel Ricciardo from the Toro Rosso team, Jaime Alguersuari has apparently completely ruled out F1 from his plans for the coming year.
The Spanish press, however, seems determined to see its driver return to the top sooner or later, even if the main party’s statements could be interpreted in the long term.
“You will not see me in the field of F1 this year,” he stated, “but I am very happy with the very beautiful experience that Formula 1 has brought me.”
It should be noted that Jaime Alguersuari refused the position of third driver at Red Bull, which eventually went to his former teammate Sebastien Buemi, and that rumors suggest a test driver position at Mercedes could be arranged if interest in this project was shown.
