Friday: Enthusiasm in order at Team Lotus
As Team Lotus enters its last Grand Prix weekend under this name (Tony Fernandes' structure becoming "Caterham" in 2012), enthusiasm seems evident for Luiz Razia, Heikki Kovalainen, and Jarno Trulli, who are benefiting from a new rear wing brought by the Malaysian team to Interlagos.
Luiz Razia – 20th:
« I am very satisfied with today’s session. What a pride for me to be back on the Interlagos track, this time in a F1 car! It’s a dream come true, and I thank the entire team for the chance I was given to drive here today. Things had already gone well for me in Abu Dhabi, where I quickly found my rhythm, as my lap times showed. The program was busy for us, notably with comparisons between the new rear wing and the previous one used in Abu Dhabi. I immediately felt the step forward and I’m happy to have contributed to the team’s progress, which is now ready for the last Grand Prix, here at home in Brazil. »
Heikki Kovalainen – 19th and 20th:
« My day was quite good. The new rear wing represents another step forward, and it’s encouraging to see that this kind of improvement is arriving just in time for the end of the season. I was able to complete a good number of laps, and all the changes made by the team have helped us make progress with lap times, regardless of the type of tires used. I think that by working hard tonight, things could be good for us tomorrow and Sunday.
Jarno Trulli – 19th:
« I am quite satisfied with the stints performed this afternoon. We still need to work to find the right balance, and I think we can expect more from the new rear wing. Nonetheless, the improvements are working and I hope we can confirm in qualifying the progress made by the team in the last races. That will be tomorrow’s goal to keep up the good momentum until Sunday.
