Force India: Mallya has not yet decided on the 2012 lineup

As speculation is rife regarding the choice Force India will make for their main drivers in 2012, Vijay Mallya has stated that the decision has not yet been made, despite the insistence of the drivers concerned: « All the drivers have asked me to make a quick decision, which I respect. But it’s a difficult decision to make! It hasn’t been made yet ».

And the Indian Team Principal warns: “I am not the kind of person who leads people on when a decision needs to be made.”

It is true that the three team drivers, Adrian Sutil, Paul Di Resta, and Nico Hülkenberg have been on tenterhooks for several weeks waiting to find out who will be appointed as the main driver for 2012… And the announcement should be made at one of the last two events of the calendar: “When I have decided, I will simply announce my choice to them.”

Despite the two points brought to his team during the Force India Grand Prix, Adrian Sutil seems to be the most threatened of the three drivers.

Vijay Mallya also spoke about the progress of his direct competitors, particularly the Toro Rosso team: « Formula 1 is becoming more competitive every day. Toro Rosso clearly made a step forward since the Japanese Grand Prix. But we too have made progress with the improvements made in India. »

The Force India team is currently sixth in the constructors’ standings with 51 points, followed by Sauber and Toro Rosso, with both teams having scored 41 points each so far…
