Vitantonio Liuzzi for his home Grand Prix didn’t race for long. The HRT driver missed his first braking point, sliding into the grass.
Unfortunately for Petrov and Rosberg, the Italian’s car returned to the track uncontrollably just as these two drivers were passing, putting the cars out of the race.
At the request of the race director, the track stewards analyzed the incident and decided to reprimand the Italian for non-compliance with article 16.1 of the regulations. Liuzzi will therefore be penalized five places in two weeks in Singapore.
