France will have its F1 Grand Prix in 2013!

France has not hosted a Formula 1 Grand Prix since 2008, and efforts have been underway for several months to bring back a French Formula 1 Grand Prix.

On its side, the Belgian Grand Prix has also been under threat for several years. Faced with this situation, the organizers decided to use the “Joker card of alternation.”

Thus, starting in 2013, a new system will be introduced where the Belgian Grand Prix and the French Grand Prix will alternate every other year. The Belgian Grand Prix will indeed take place in 2012, while the French Grand Prix will start in 2013, and so on.

The organizers of the future French Grand Prix are still considering the location of the future GP. Le Castellet is announced as the favorite against Magny-Cours, but nothing is official yet. One thing is certain, the proposal for alternation will soon be submitted to Bernie Ecclestone.

According to Davingon, the F1 chief financial officer has already agreed to the rotation proposal.

We will, of course, keep you informed of the progress of the case.
