Saturday: the Red Bulls still dominant

Once again, and despite the FIA's technical adjustments that some predicted would be unfavorable to them, the Red Bulls dominated the competition during the qualifying rounds of the British Grand Prix at Silverstone.

Saturday: the Red Bulls still dominant

Mark Webber – 3rd and 1st:

« It was a mixed session for us. It was important to clock a time quickly because you never know how the track might change a few moments later. I’m very happy with the work done. It wasn’t easy with these uncertain conditions. We are in a good position for the race. »

Sebastian Vettel – 1st and 2nd:

The session was difficult with changing conditions. When it starts to rain here, it’s hard to know which part of the track is wet and which part is dry. If we come into a corner full speed and it’s wet, we can quickly go off the track. It’s not easy. I couldn’t manage a second run, which is a shame. I would have liked to try to catch Mark. But overall, this result is very good for us, especially after all the discussions before qualifying. We are still at the top and able to set good laps. On Sunday, anything can happen. This circuit is complicated, and we’ll see what happens during the race.

Christian Horner, Team Principal:

“It is a great relief for us after starting the weekend in difficult conditions. Both our drivers did a great job in Q1 and Q2 and the first run proved crucial in Q3. It was very close between the drivers and Mark had an excellent lap, his second pole of the season and the ninth for the team. Ferrari is quite close, but today the team delivered a huge performance.”
