New regulation: an advantage for Ferrari according to Massa
With the new regulations regarding engine mappings imposed by the FIA, which will come into effect at the European Grand Prix this weekend, Felipe Massa is very optimistic for Sunday's race.
The first winner of the European Grand Prix in Valencia in 2008 reacted to the regulation change regarding engine mapping, which can no longer be changed between qualifying and the race, as well as the limitation of blown exhausts and, according to him, his team could benefit from this regulation change during the season.
Especially compared to Red Bull, which gained a significant advantage from the blown diffuser compared to other teams. The Brazilian believes it is very difficult to assess what it will yield, as the teams that use this system may lose more performance than others.
One thing is certain: all the teams are going to lose performance, and of course, the Red Bull Racing team is in the spotlight because it could lose its lead over its competitors.
Even though he thinks this change could be favorable for Scuderia Ferrari, he remains confident for this Spanish weekend because he’s coming off a good Canadian Grand Prix and wants to build on this strong race to achieve a good result and get closer to the podium.
This is also the intention of Stefano Domenicali, who is happy with his driver’s return to form and wants to see a Massa fighting like in the last Grand Prix where he snatched 6th place from Kamui Kobayashi by a few centimeters.
