Petrov Accident: No Concern at LRGP
While the Russian driver could have hoped to finish sixth in the Monaco Grand Prix, Vitaly Petrov was involved in a spectacular accident six laps from the finish.
A few minutes before the end of the race, Renault driver Vitaly Petrov violently hit a barrier, which required the immediate intervention of a medical assistance team and the interruption of the race with a red flag.
While there was concern during Petrov’s transfer to the hospital, the Lotus Renault GP team aimed to be reassuring by announcing in a statement: « No fracture was diagnosed at the circuit. Once at the hospital, it was confirmed that there was no fracture ».
The team also announced that as a precaution Vitaly will undergo a full scan, but he should be back in the paddock in the next few hours. »
No worries then about the Russian’s health despite some pain, it seems.
Let us finally acknowledge the work of the marshals of the Monaco Grand Prix who once again lived up to their reputation by performing a tremendous job throughout the weekend.
