Friday: Force India still fires three times
Force India ran its three drivers today. The Indian team tested numerous new features and took advantage of the weather conditions to give its reserve driver, Nico Hülkenberg, some track time. The team expects more from the qualifying day.
Adrian Sutil – 10th
«We had to try the wings on my car today, which was quite interesting given the results; we still need to analyze them, but we seem to understand them quite well already. I tested the tires, both hard and soft, and did long stints with them. So, I’m already quite well prepared, and I think the hard tires are better and more consistent over time. This will probably evolve as the track changes. For the overall balance of the car, we are trying to work and improve, especially in the last sector where there is still some understeer. It’s quite good, however, in the fast corners. »
Paul Di Resta – 13th and 8th
The session this morning was difficult because of the rain and so I didn’t learn much about the new wing even though I was able to practice in the rain. In the afternoon the priority was the tires. I did some stints with the tires, including two with the soft tires. We have a lot of data to analyze and will do our best to improve. We are moving in the right direction and I am happy with my day.
Nico Hülkenberg – 10th:
I only drove this morning and it was wet. It was the first time on Pirellis for everyone in the rain. There was a lot of aquaplaning, especially at the end of the session, and nonetheless, we were able to prepare a setup in case of rain on Sunday.
