Jérôme d’Ambrosio receives a five-place penalty

After ignoring a yellow flag today during the second free practice session, Jérôme d’Ambrosio will likely start from the last place on the grid in Turkey for the fourth event of the Formula 1 season.

The Virgin driver ignored a yellow flag and after the stewards reviewed the video, they stated they noticed no reaction from the Belgian driver to this important signal in Formula 1. D’Ambrosio defended himself by stating that he hadn’t seen it.

The action took place after Pastor Maldonado’s spin in turn 8. D’Ambrosio will receive an early penalty of five grid places for the next race. Unless he pulls off a feat in qualifying, the Belgian will start last.
