Heidfeld wears the Polish flag on his helmet

This weekend, for the arrival of F1 in Europe, the German opted for a new helmet. Since Australia, Heidfeld has added alongside the German flag a Polish pennant, white and red.

This weekend, for the Turkish Grand Prix, the Lotus Renault GP driver will use a new matte black and gold helmet for the LRGP colors, of course, but still with the Polish flag, in a larger size.

Through this design, Heidfeld intends to pay tribute to Robert Kubica, who was severely injured last February after a rally accident in Italy.

It is important to highlight that other drivers regularly customize their helmets. Since the seismic disaster in Japan, most of them have had a Japanese flag painted on their helmet or on the car.
