Williams launches its colors for the 2011 F1 season
The Williams Formula 1 team was one of the first teams to unveil its new car at the end of January. The Williams FW33, very advanced from an aerodynamic point of view, was only adorned in provisional blue-black. The team's 2011 colors were in fact launched today.
It was 10:00 this morning when the English team unveiled its new colors. The FW33 retains the traditional blue of Sir Franck Williams’ team but also adds white – much more than in previous seasons.
The English team had invited journalists for a dinner at the base of the stable in Grove (a few kilometers from London) to officially launch the FW33 in the presence of a renowned chef, Mickael Caines. The dimmed lights revealed a blue and white racing car with touches of red and a design very similar to that of the years 1993/97.
The livery – also unveiled live on the team’s website – reveals new sponsors but prominently features PDVSA and Randstad.
This year, it’s the Venezuelan Pastor Maldonado and the experienced Brazilian Rubens Barrichello who will drive the Williams FW33 on the circuits.
