Kubica is doing better and will undergo one final operation tomorrow

Despite the rumors suggesting a worsening of Robert Kubica’s health condition on Sunday, the Lotus Renault GP team issued a reassuring statement.

As a reminder, the Pole was the victim of a serious rally incident, piercing through a safety barrier. He was hospitalized and underwent emergency surgery for fractures in his hand. Kubica’s girlfriend stated on Sunday evening that his condition worsened after his second operation, which lasted 10 hours to repair fractures of the right tibia and femur. The statement thus indicates that his condition has stabilized and improved.

Tomorrow, Wednesday, Kubica is expected to undergo a final procedure for his right elbow.

Lotus Renault GP statement:

The latest update on Robert’s health indicates that it remains positive. He will stay in the intensive care unit for the next two days for a complete check-up, as well as to avoid another service change before the final operation.

His good general condition means that this final operation (on the elbow) is scheduled for Wednesday.
