Mercedes unveiled a first photo depicting its new MGP W02 two days before the announced date. This image with exaggerated tones shows a major change: the front nose.
The MGP, the second of its name, abandons the chubby appearance characterized by the Brawn GP of 2009. This year, Ross Brawn adopts a strategy much more representative of the 2010 Red Bull single-seater. Similar to the new Ferrari F150, unveiled on January 28, the MGP W02 has a raised and flat front nose. The aerodynamic penetration index is therefore much higher.
Beyond this modified front end, the official comments from the team concern the livery. The colors are different and much brighter. The KERS will be an important area of performance according to Ross Brawn. More details will be provided at the official launch of the new single-seater. The MGP will be unveiled Tuesday morning at 9:20 am on the Valencia circuit.
