The stewards of the Brazilian Grand Prix did not take any action against the two protagonists of the first lap accident. Jarno Trulli and Adrian Sutil had a big scare a few seconds after the lights went out. Both drivers were forced to retire from the race in Interlagos after their two cars made contact.
Although Trulli was quite upset and yelled violently at Sutil right after the accident, the race stewards deemed this affair a simple racing incident that did not require internal penalties during the race. The Italian driver, from a more personal standpoint, was nonetheless fined 10,000€.
On his side, Sutil, who slid for about a hundred meters in the grass before crossing the track at the next corner, collided with Fernando Alonso’s Renault. The incident was considered closed, as Sutil apologized to the French team.
