Brazil GP: One Title, Two Titles, or Nothing for Brawn GP?

The excitement must be high in Brackley this weekend… It’s because there are not one but two titles at stake! The first one, the constructors’ title, is much simpler to win as Brawn GP only needs to gain one point over Red Bull to be comfortably crowned. On the drivers’ side, the battle could be more interesting as both teammates, Button and Barrichello, are in the running, but it is Sebastian Vettel who is drawing all the attention with his recent victory in Suzuka.

The challenge for Jenson Button is to manage his race as he has been accustomed to doing for several Grand Prix now. But watch out for Rubens Barrichello, who will be in front of his home crowd, known as one of the most fervent in the calendar. So the show will certainly be thrilling.

Jenson Button – Racing Driver:

This year will be the first time we go to Sao Paulo for the Brazilian Grand Prix without it being the last in the championship, but it’s still going to be an exciting weekend. There is always a great atmosphere at Interlagos, and Brazilian fans are so passionate about motorsport, especially Formula 1. Interlagos is quite an unusual circuit and it’s an enjoyable challenge for the drivers. The counterclockwise direction, the various hills, and the bumpy surface completely capture your attention. The left-hand turns add extra physical challenges. It’s an important race for me and the team for the championship gains, and we will work hard to achieve the best possible results. It will be a challenge, but we are all looking forward to it.

Rubens Barrichello – Race Car Driver

« The Brazilian Grand Prix is always a special weekend for me, and I am very proud of my home race. I was born very close to Interlagos, and I have been visiting the circuit since I was little and at the start of my karting career. I love having my family and friends around me at the end of the week, and it’s fantastic to race in front of Brazilian fans and receive so much support over the weekend. The circuit has almost become a second home for me over the years, but it still retains a real sense of challenge. Our car should suit the track configuration this year, and you really need to have confidence in your setup to maximize your chances in the fast, bumpy corners. Interlagos has a prestigious corner with the Curva do Laranjinha, and there are real overtaking opportunities in the Senna S at the start of the lap. I am going to give it my all this weekend to get the best possible result. »

Ross Brawn – Team Principal:

With both championships, constructors and drivers, still up for grabs, the Brazilian Grand Prix should be an exciting and fascinating weekend for fans present at the circuit as well as for television viewers around the world. Interlagos offers a big challenge for teams and drivers with its high altitude and bumpy surface. These are the two main considerations for setting up the cars. Reduced atmospheric pressure leads to a loss of engine power and aerodynamic performance, while the cars need to be set up with a higher ride height to cope with the bumps that are particularly noticeable in the braking zones. Interlagos is an excellent circuit, and a lap is characterized by long straights followed by left-hand turns. The weather can play an important role, so we will be keeping an eye on the weekend forecasts. The race will be of great importance for the team and our drivers, and we are looking forward to being in the thick of the action.
