Vitantonio Liuzzi will have a five-place grid penalty for the Japanese Grand Prix after replacing his gearbox before qualifying.
The Force India driver was struggling with his car during the last free practice session, and the team finally decided to change the gearbox.
Under F1 regulations, this means that Liuzzi must take a five-place penalty for the race. This won’t have much impact because the Italian qualified in 19th position, knowing that Mark Webber, in 20th, will start from the pits. Liuzzi might do the same tomorrow.
