Ferrari will undoubtedly make an appearance at the end of this season and the remaining three races as the 3rd place in the constructors’ championship is not secured. Looking closely, the Scuderia has nothing to do with the 2009 season anymore. It has admitted itself that all means and resources were placed in the new car, the F2010.
From the pilots’ point of view, there is little or no motivation. And for good reason, Giancarlo Fisichella is only playing a temporary role replacing Felipe Massa, who is still recovering. He is undoubtedly more concerned about his future since nothing is decided for 2010. For Kimi Räikkönen, the situation is even simpler as he is being let go by Ferrari, which just signed a contract with Alonso. One can easily understand his motivations at the end of the year… He seems on the verge of signing a deal with McLaren-Mercedes for his big return to the Woking team.
Kimi Räikkönen – Racing Driver:
« Suzuka is a very demanding circuit from a technical perspective, particularly in terms of aerodynamics. You need a lot of downforce and honestly, we don’t have enough to fight for the top positions. Nevertheless, we will do everything possible to make the most of the potential at our disposal. »
Giancarlo Fisichella – Racing Driver
I haven’t lost courage and I’m eager to put on a good show in front of such an enthusiastic crowd, including the members of my Japanese fan club. I’ve only been with Ferrari for a few weeks, but I’ve found that this team is made up of people who never give up. I’m sure that, thanks to everyone’s hard work, we will once again be able to achieve some good results in these last three races, including Suzuka of course.
