Alpine F1 in the green in 2022, with 30.28 million Euros of profit

Alpine announced an increase of over 23.5% in its revenues in 2022, thanks in particular to its position in the championship which allows it to take a larger share in the teams’ revenue distribution and also to its sponsors including BWT. In 2022, the team thus generated 249 million pounds sterling in revenues compared to 201 million in 2021. At the same time, expenditures went from 145.3 million pounds sterling to 170.4 million in 2022. After tax, the team therefore generates 26.2 million pounds sterling in profits, which equals 30.28 million Euros.

Note that the Alpine team is headquartered in Enstone, United Kingdom and must therefore publish its accounts across the Channel. The Viry-Châtillon factory is just one of many providers to the team strictly in the accounting sense even though the two entities are very much tied together.

Renault, incidentally, which owns the team, has reduced its stake in the team’s finances in 2022, going from 70 million euros in 2021 to 48.8 million in 2022.

More employees in 2022

The stable also announced having a workforce of 871 people in 2022 compared to 820 people in 2021. This increase is not insignificant but is mainly distributed in the administrative sector, especially to manage accounts and constraints related to the capped budget. In fact, only 14 people have been declared new in research and production.

Also note that the stable donated 53,000 pounds sterling in 2022.

Better than Aston Martin?

Aston Martin is currently the only F1 team to have revealed its accounts for 2022. The Silverstone team has far fewer employees than Alpine, with only 504 people compared to 871 for Alpine. It should be noted, however, that Alpine manages the production of all its parts, unlike Aston Martin which buys many parts from Mercedes.

The Aston Martin stable declared for its part a deficit of 61 million euros in 2022.
