After a week of delay, due to your servants’ well-deserved vacation, the photos of the 2009 Belgian Grand Prix (race) are finally available. You now have access to the best moments of the race – strange as it may be – that took place last Sunday on the twelfth circuit of the season in Spa.
Photos are undoubtedly the best way to closely study the details of a Formula 1 car and to understand the aerodynamic innovations implemented by the engineers.
For Spa, a very fast track with long corners, the single-seaters must find a very good balance, sometimes favoring top speed over corner grip. Teams then arrive with specific packages. The wings are the main items modified.
BMW Sauber is thus equipped with the shark fin. Toyota and Williams opt for a much wider front wing. Toro Rosso has a new nose, even flatter than the Red Bull, while McLaren and Ferrari have mainly worked on the rear wing to reduce aerodynamic disturbances.
Today’s photos therefore concern the Race, as well as the podium and the pit lane.
