The Formula 1 team principals will meet with the FIA presidency candidate, Ari Vatanen, during the Belgian Grand Prix this weekend, before meeting his rival Jean Todt later in the season.
The Formula 1 Teams Association (FOTA) agreed to meet with Vatanen on Saturday at Spa-Francorchamps to discuss the former rally world champion’s proposals for the future of the governing body. Although the teams have no say in the outcome of the election, FIA member clubs are always eager to hear what potential future presidents have to say about their plans.
The FOTA is also considering meeting Jean Todt during the Frenchman’s visit to the Singapore Grand Prix in September. This will be the first time the former Ferrari team director will attend an F1 race since his official announcement as a candidate for the presidency. This meeting will take place on Friday the 25th before the Grand Prix.
