Belgian GP: Confidence reigns at Williams

It is the Williams drivers themselves who acknowledge it, the FW31 cars are suited to any type of circuit. They are therefore more than confident on the eve of this new race weekend in Belgium at the fabulous Spa-Francorchamps circuit. Nico Rosberg has been demonstrating it for several races, his car is reliable across all circuits. His goal is now to fight for pole position in qualifying and a podium finish in the race.

Kazuki Nakajima with the same car delivers much more inconsistent performances. He is capable of very good qualifying sessions, but in races, luck never seems to be on his side as he hasn’t scored any points in the standings. A situation that has not gone unnoticed by his team. The driver is in jeopardy for the continuation of his career.

Nico Rosberg – Racing Driver

« Spa should be a good race for the team. It’s a high-intensity track, very different from Valencia, but our car performs really well everywhere. This track, in particular, will suit our car because we have an aerodynamic package adapted to fast corners, so I’m looking forward to being there. Belgium is somewhat in the middle of nowhere, and it’s a change from the circuits we’ve visited recently. Going to different places in Formula 1 is so nice. »

Kazuki Nakajima – Racing Driver

Spa is very different from Valencia due to its setting and high-speed corners. We were unlucky in 2008, but this year’s car is competitive on all types of tracks. The weather made last year’s race difficult, so we hope for more stable conditions this year. I don’t have much experience on this circuit and I’m not particularly familiar with Belgium, but the Spa track and the surrounding countryside are really beautiful. It’s quiet, but the people are really passionate about Formula 1, so it’s always very pleasant to go there.
