Assessment: At Williams, Rosberg is leading his team upwards

Status quo at Williams in this 11th round of the season in Valencia for the European Grand Prix. As usual, Nico Rosberg is the only one to score points. Kazuki Nakajima is once again unlucky, a habit by now.

The German thus scores four more points for his team after a great race. The drivers in front of him were too fast to hope for better. He can console himself by saying he did his best. Nakajima finishes in last place.

Nico Rosberg – 5th:

« Outside of the heat, I really enjoyed the race. It’s another good result for the team. Fifth again starting from seventh gives us more points. I was hoping to beat Räikkönen today, but he was too fast. Our car seems to suit all tracks, the team needs to continue developing race after race. It’s good to always be there and I hope we continue like this, and maybe take a step towards a podium. »

Kazuki Nakajima – 18th:

« It was another disappointing afternoon for me. I was 13th when I had that puncture, which ended my race. A few laps from the end, I had several problems. »

Rod Nelson – Chief Operations Engineer

« Kazuki [Nakajima] saw his race compromised by his qualification problems, so we decided to give him a long first stint before his puncture happened. We had to make the decision to bring him in because he had some damage that could harm his gearbox. Nico [Rosberg] had a good race. We had hoped to get closer to Räikkönen, but the second stint wasn’t good enough, and Alonso was also present. We managed the gap with the Renault driver so he could keep his fifth place, which we are happy with. »
