The Fan-F1 ranking after the European GP

There is indeed an official ranking in Formula 1 that allocates points based on the importance of the positions achieved, with a decreasing scale of two for the top three positions. 10 points for the winner, 8 for the second, and 6 for the third.

This scale only rewards drivers who finish in the top eight; drivers regularly in the top 10 (9th and 10th, for example) are never acknowledged, even though this position is almost as significant as an eighth place that usually grants a point.

To correct the situation, casinoenlignefrance.eu.com invented the consistency ranking: Each driver receives a point according to their inverse order of finish, provided they have crossed the checkered flag. In case of retirement, they receive no points. The first receives 22 points, the second 21, the third 20, and so on. The 22nd, if there is one, will therefore inherit just one point.

In the end, we obtain a ranking based on the finishing position of each race, showing the consistency of each participant and allowing for rewarding the driver for the work they provide in the team, not just according to their position.

Only two retirements this week, so very few changes in the hierarchy. Button still dominates this ranking as he has yet to retire. He now has 219 points and a race lead over Webber (196 points). Barrichello and Rosberg remain 3rd and 4th with 190 and 178 points, respectively. Glock, Hamilton, and Alonso maintain their 5th, 6th, and 7th positions with only a few points separating each driver.

Vettel falls heavily from 8th to 12th place, benefiting Trulli, Heidfeld, and Räikkönen who each move up a position. The gap between these four drivers remains very small (10 points). Piquet will now tumble down in this ranking, losing two places, allowing Kovalainen and Kubica to move into 14th and 15th place just behind Fisichella, who is very consistent in his Force India.

Nakajima takes the 17th position from Bourdais. No change at the bottom of the standings since Buemi, Sutil, and Alguersuari are still 19th, 20th, and 21st. For this European Grand Prix, there were two new drivers. Advantage to Romain Grosjean who has 8 points over Luca Badoer (6 points).
