Here is the statement from Renault following the decision of the FIA International Court of Appeal on August 17, 2009:
Renault is satisfied with the decision made by the FIA International Court of Appeal, which lifted the sanction imposed on the team on July 26, 2009, excluding it from the European Grand Prix. However, the team acknowledges having breached the Sporting Regulations during the incident that occurred in the pit lane, thereby compromising safety.
Renault therefore accepts the FIA’s decision to impose a reprimand and a fine of $50,000, which is a little over €35,000, on the team.
The team is now pleased to be able to focus on the preparations for the European Grand Prix taking place this weekend in Valencia.
