Ralf Schumacher welcomes the return of his brother Michael

The return of Michael Schumacher to Formula 1 is the best news the sport could have, according to his brother Ralf.

The seven-time champion will replace the injured Ferrari driver, Felipe Massa, starting from the European Grand Prix in Valencia.

The 40-year-old driver retired from Formula 1 at the end of the 2006 season. Since then, he has taken on the role of a test driver and more recently as a strategic advisor. He last tested an F2008 over a year ago.

The Valencia circuit will be a new challenge for the German, who has never driven on this track.

Schumacher, who will race alongside Kimi Räikkönen, will also be on track with the reigning world champion Lewis Hamilton, who has never competed against the German.

Ralf, his brother, describes his return as excellent news for Formula 1.

« He really wanted to come back. But no one expected this. After all the difficulties the sport has been through, it’s absolutely brilliant. »

Nothing better for Formula 1 than seeing his brother return.

This news delighted the German newspapers, which last Thursday celebrated Schumacher’s return.

« The God of racing is back. The legend will drive again, » headlines the newspaper Bild.
