As Formula 1 fans, everyone remembers the facts: On Saturday during the qualifying for the 2009 Hungarian Grand Prix in Budapest, Massa was struck on the head (helmet) by debris. He lost consciousness and crashed into a tire barrier at over 190 km/h.
The Brazilian then remains in his single-seater, without moving. The track marshals do not touch him, they wait for the medical car. The minutes are long, very long, and the specialists take time to extract him from his Ferrari.
After 15 minutes, he is transported to the medical center, then in stable condition, airlifted to the AEK hospital in Budapest. Massa will undergo immediate surgery there, which will certainly save his life.
He is still in serious condition, but has come out of an induced coma and reportedly does not have any serious permanent injuries according to the doctors.
