Remember, Force India announced at the beginning of the year that the performances would not arrive until mid-season. The Indian team has not been mistaken because over the last two races, the ascent has been even more spectacular. Its objective now is to aim for the top 10 in the race while continuing to progress in qualifying.
And for good reason, Giancarlo Fisichella and Adrian Sutil often make it into Q2. These good results are therefore the result of the collaboration with McLaren-Mercedes but also due to developments race after race. Great expectations for this race weekend!
Giancarlo Fisichella – Racing Driver
« The German GP was obviously very positive for the whole team. Once again, we drove very well to finish just outside the points. Looking at the last two races, we’ve really improved, as in Great Britain we went from 16th to 10th place. It’s not because of the weather, but because the team is really competitive. I’m quite confident for Hungary that we’ll do even better. We can see our pace is much more competitive. I love driving the car and I’m looking forward to the next race. Our qualifying pace has really taken a step forward. »
Adrian Sutil – Racing Driver
« The Hungaroring is a good track, one of my favorites with lots of corners, in some ways, like a karting track. It is very bumpy in places, which makes it a bit more difficult to drive. Our goal should be to reach Q2 again and finish the race as close to the top 10 as possible. We want to stay in the midfield where we are now. We are still waiting for the points. That should be the goal for the season and the last races. »
Vijay Mallya – President and Team Principal:
I am convinced that Germany was not just an exception for us. We have always said that the first races would be compromised by the late signing of the contract with McLaren and Mercedes. Since then, we have introduced new upgrades. We had hoped that these improvements would be evident at Silverstone, but for various reasons, we were unable to showcase the full potential. In Germany, on the other hand, it was different. Since the beginning of the season, we have improved by 1.7 seconds, I don’t think any other team has done that. I truly believe that we are contenders for Q2 for the rest of the season and in Hungary, the qualifying session is crucial.
