Friday: Without flair, the Williams team is present

It is with some difficulty that we can assess the Williams team this evening following the first day of testing. Kazuki Nakajima is in the top 10, as is Nico Rosberg in the morning, but he drops out in the afternoon session.

Only certainty, the cars are suffering from the low temperatures on the track and everyone agrees that it is preferable to wait until tomorrow. So let’s wait until tomorrow!

Nico Rosberg – 7th and 13th:

There is not too much of a problem today apart from the eternal question of the tires and the temperature which will evolve according to the weather. The forecasts seem to indicate that the temperatures will rise. Today’s wind also made the situation difficult. We know that we have a lot of improvements. We have also changed our approach to Friday testing. We no longer expect to be at the top of the timesheet. In the long term, however, we have made some very clear progress for the race.

Kazuki Nakajima – 9th and 9th:

The weather is a bit strange. We are hoping for milder conditions tomorrow, hopefully! I think we need to be a bit patient and wait to see how things evolve. Of course, this is my first race here, in a F1, and although I didn’t find the track very easy, it’s interesting and enjoyable.

« We worked on our program, even though there was a bit of rain this afternoon. It was quite difficult given the gusts of wind and the rather cold track temperature. It’s a big challenge to get a good temperature on the tires with optimal grip. However, we managed to compare the two types of tires and check all the new aerodynamic parts we have on the car. »
