Fuji Speedway, in financial difficulty?

Some information from Japan claims that Toyota is considering removing the next Japanese Grand Prix at Fuji Speedway, which will be held in 2010. Toyota owns the Fuji circuit while Honda owns the Suzuka track.

The circuit in close proximity to Mount Fuji would therefore revise its plans to host the Grand Prix. The cause would be the global recession which continues to negatively impact the revenues of major car manufacturers.

The French news agency AFP claims that Toyota has neither confirmed nor denied this information revealed by Mainichi Shimbun.

The Fuji Speedway hosted the Japanese Grand Prix in 2007 and 2008, but in 2009, the race became the property of Honda at the Suzuka track. An alternating system is therefore in place. It should be noted that Toyota posted its first loss at the beginning of the year.
