According to information from the English BBC, Sir Richard Branson reportedly signed a deal for 2010 between the new Formula 1 team, Manor Grand Prix, and his company Virgin.
The British billionaire stated last weekend at Silverstone that it was unlikely the agreement with Brawn GP would continue next year as the value of the contract with the Brackley team had skyrocketed.
Before the immense success this season of the former Honda team, Branson had grand plans for Brawn, which might have included Virgin as the team name or possibly an equity transfer.
However, these plans are said to have shifted towards a younger and more affordable team entering the Formula 1 championship for the first time in 2010: Manor Grand Prix with the collaboration of John Booth, head of the F3 team, and former Simtek head, Nick Wirth.
Other rumors, still coming from the BBC, report that another world-renowned company could be associated with a new Formula 1 team in 2010.
Like Branson, the American co-founder of YouTube, Chad Hurley, was also seen at Silverstone, perhaps with the aim of finalizing a deal with USF1.
Finally, a piece of information that is indeed real: Peter Windsor, future team principal of USF1, has resigned from his role as an interviewer of drivers during press conferences on race weekends. He has been replaced by former ITV commentator James Allen.
