Mosley is unhappy with the reactions of the FOTA

The future of Max Mosley in Formula 1 is once again at the center of concerns as the president of the FIA is considering the possibility of reelection next October. The reasons for this turnaround come from deliberate attempts by teams to mislead the media.

A few hours after Mosley reached an agreement with the FOTA, which also ended the threat of a parallel championship, the British man reacted angrily to what he called false allegations made by the Formula One Teams Association (FOTA) about the nature of their agreement.

In a letter sent to Luca di Montezemolo, president of the FOTA, Mosley expresses all his anger towards the organization, on how the terms of the agreement are presented.

And given the way the FOTA handles the issue, the president of the FIA also seems to treat lightly his future from October.

« Given the deliberate attempts to deceive the media, I will now examine my options for the future, » wrote Mosley in a letter. « At least until October, I am the President of the FIA with full authority of this office.

Mosley is furious with the FOTA representatives who claim several things: That the President of the FIA Senate, Michel Boeri, would embody change in F1, that Mosley was forced to resign and that he will no longer play any role within the FIA once he is no longer its president in October.

We reached an agreement in Paris on Wednesday regarding the recent difficulties of Formula 1, explains Mosley. What was agreed upon is positive for the sport, and the least we can do is to present the truth to the media.

« I was therefore surprised to learn from the FOTA that Mr. Boeri would take better care of Formula 1 than me, that’s false, that I had been forced to resign, that’s also false and apparently, I won’t have any role within the FIA after October, which is obviously nonsense given my positions.

« Additionally, I have heard the word ‘dictator’, an accusation that is totally insulting to the 26 members of the World Motor Sport Council who have voted on all the rules and procedures of Formula 1 since the 1980s, not to mention the representatives of the FIA in 122 countries who have democratically approved everything I have done over the past 18 years.

The letter addressed to the FOTA talks about an agreement reached on Wednesday that could collapse if apologies are not made. The letter was sent before the FOTA press conference in Bologna on Thursday afternoon, during which Mosley hoped for apologies that never came…

Mosley stated: If you want the agreement to survive, FOTA must immediately correct its actions. You must correct the false statements that have been made. You must issue a correction and apology at your press conference this afternoon (Thursday afternoon).

The situation is therefore a new tense, the war may not be over…
