Adrian Sutil will start the British Grand Prix with a new chassis following his major accident yesterday in qualifying.
The German went off the track at Becketts in the last seconds of Q1 after a brake issue. His Force India crashed into the tire wall with significant damage as a result. Sutil, slightly shaken, is not injured but had to visit the medical center as a precaution for a check-up.
The team received authorization from the FIA to replace its Mercedes chassis, engine, and gearbox after submitting a written request.
The single-seater will therefore use a VJM02/01 chassis, rather than the 03 chassis.
Due to this change, Sutil will start from the pits for this British Grand Prix as stipulated by the regulations.
