Saturday: Red Bull and Vettel are on cloud nine at Silverstone!

Red Bull came to England with high hopes. The hope of regaining its best form, catching up with Button in the championship, but above all, making sure the new RB5 performs well. After the qualifiers, everything seems to be on the right track.

Vettel secured pole position for the British Grand Prix, and Webber takes third place. Both men will be able to start on the clean side of the track and thwart the plans of Brawn GP and Barrichello, who is in second place.

The team is introducing some new features, mainly aerodynamic, now we can only hope for reliability. So far, no issues and both Webber and Vettel are confident about the course of the race. Wait and see!

Sebastian Vettel – 4th and 1st:

« It’s simply a fantastic weekend, without any problems! We brought new elements here and they seem to work like a charm. We’ve made a step forward and yet in qualifying, there’s always some pressure to manage. It was a bit complicated during qualifying, with a bit of traffic constantly in front of us – even if it’s three seconds ahead, it has an influence on my car. »

« In Q3, I did two very good stints, but the last lap was perhaps the lap of the weekend. Often, we think we could have done better, but here, I’m not sure. I used my tires superbly and when I saw the checkered flag, I was surprised to have been so fast – it was enough for pole! I can only thank the team and the guys for such performances; we both proved that the RB5 was performing well! »

Mark Webber – 9th and 3rd:

« It’s a good weekend so far for us. I should have had a good final lap, clean and clear, but Kimi [Räikkönen] must have been dreaming or… I don’t know. He was on my line and killed my momentum at Stowe. I was improving and could have gotten more out of the car, but in the end, I’m third. Congratulations to Seb [Vettel] who did a good job, like both of us and the team, thanks to them!

Christian Horner – Director:

« A good team performance today. First and third is a good way to reward the team, somewhat at home here. It’s just a shame that Webber encountered traffic; otherwise, I’m sure we could have taken the front row. However, the race looks very good. »
