USF1 confirms its application for the 2010 championship

The US F1 team led by Ken Anderson and Peter Windsor is the second team to publicly confirm its registration for entry into the F1 World Championship next year.

As the teams currently present in the sport continue discussions with the FIA for a regulatory change, US F1 has joined Campos Racing in confirming its plans for 2010.

It is team principal Ken Anderson who confirmed the plans from the Monaco paddocks. When asked if his team had submitted its entry, he asserted: « Yes, we did. It will be the United States F1 team. »

Anderson also announced a future contract with an engine manufacturer, as required by the FIA. Although its identity has not been revealed, the team has been strongly linked to Cosworth in recent weeks.

Registrations for the 2010 championship are possible until next Friday, after which the FIA will confirm the lucky ones on June 12.

A certain number of other teams are expected to submit their applications in the coming days, as they finalize funding and organizational plans. Moreover, Ferrari, Renault, Toyota, and Red Bull have already stated that if the current regulations are not changed, they will not enter the competition next year.
