Today the International Automobile Federation is due to appear before a Paris court. The verdict of the action brought by Ferrari against the FIA will probably not be known immediately.
A spokesperson for the Italian team confirmed that the Scuderia felt compelled to quickly appeal against the budget cap regulation because the schedule is more than demanding.
« Teams must register for the 2010 season between May 22 and 29, thus accepting the new regulations. »
« However, this budget cap rule is completely against Ferrari’s past commitments, » said Emmanuel Gaillard, one of Ferrari’s lawyers, to the AFP news agency.
The case will be heard today before the Paris Tribunal de Grande Instance, presided over by three judges.
But the German newspaper Auto Motor und Sport claims that the verdict will not be announced today.
Quoting a court spokesperson, the verdict is expected to be announced in a few days after the judges have reviewed all the arguments.
