Nico Rosberg made a good start from 9th place, even reaching 7th. He ultimately finished 8th at the end of the race. Williams remains in 8th position in the Constructors’ Championship.
Nico Rosberg – 8th:
« I really believe that 5th place was possible today, but things didn’t go as they should have. I had very good first laps, but after about 10 laps, I started experiencing a rear issue with the car that I’ve had all weekend. Something simply inexplicable was affecting the balance, causing a lot of oversteer. It persisted for a large part of the race, preventing me from really pushing, and that’s what was frustrating. Only one point scored, it’s still something, although we should have a good car in Monaco. I think a good result is likely there. »
Kazuki Nakajima – 13th:
« Another difficult race for me. I hadn’t even started when I already had a problem with my wing which I damaged on the first lap with the accident. Fortunately, I didn’t lose much time because the safety car was deployed, but my race was not the same from then on. Our race pace was quite good, which allowed me to gain an advantage over Fisichella, but it was still a disappointing weekend. »
Patrick Head – Director of Engineering:
« Even though we are in the points today, it’s frustrating not to have achieved more, especially since the safety car was out on the first lap. It gave an advantage to our strategy. Kazuki [Nakajima] was behind from the start due to a stop to change his front wing. Nico [Rosberg]’s pace in the first stint was good, but we then struggled to maintain consistency. Both cars were reliable. »
