Friday: A good day performance-wise for Red Bull

Red Bull has just experienced a more than peaceful day. A Friday that many teams dream of achieving with performance and reliability. No major issues to report on the RB5s of Mark Webber and Sebastian Vettel.

Outside the top 10 this morning, they quickly turned things around to secure 5th and 7th places. Good omens ahead of Saturday’s event and its qualifications during which the Austrian team should showcase all its qualities.

Mark Webber – 12th and 5th:

« The single-seaters are still very close to each other, but we had a very good second practice session. This morning’s tests weren’t as good, but this afternoon, I had a better feeling with the car. We had a small problem on the last stint this evening, but it’s very minor. The team did a good job today and we have solid data to study tonight, so I think we’re in pretty good shape. »

Sebastian Vettel – 13th and 7th:

« A fairly normal Friday, except for a moment when we had a problem with the radio. I heard Spanish being spoken so there was an issue! We did some laps and tested new parts, which will be useful for us tomorrow and Sunday. We will compare the data against our competitors. I’m sure there are areas where I can still improve and where we can improve the car, so we need to work hard and come back stronger tomorrow. »
