The Red Bull team had a more than pleasant day riding the wave of last week’s success. The motivation and desire to do well must be very much present within the team. With their confidence intact, Sebastian Vettel and Mark Webber had two good practice sessions.
While they seem to be suffering from the heat, the German and the Australian finish this Friday in the top 5. Very promising ahead of tomorrow afternoon’s qualifications…
Sebastian Vettel – 12th and 4th:
« So, obviously, it’s a return to normal now. Last weekend was fantastic, but we still have a lot of work to do! We need to focus on Bahrain now. It was a normal Friday, we were able to more or less complete our program without any problems with the car. »
« It is difficult to make observations, but the car is good. We struggled to find a good balance this morning, but it was better this afternoon. Now, we need to examine the data and try to improve for tomorrow. I think everyone was surprised to see these temperatures. When you leave the pits in the car, it’s like someone is using a heat gun in front of you. It’s better to drive with the visor down because otherwise you let in even hotter air. »
Mark Webber – 9th and 5th:
« The conditions here in Bahrain are very different compared to last Sunday in Shanghai. We have very dry weather and, as usual, finding the right balance on the car is a challenge. We drove today with both types of tires and the car remained perfect. In terms of pace, it is always difficult to say anything on a Friday but I hope we are in good shape to achieve good results again on Sunday. »
