Ferrari has still not returned to its best level. The Italian team is experiencing some problems, such as reliability, performance, and a small crisis within the group; so many issues that bring the Scuderia closer to the victims of the Abruzzo earthquake last week. This is why the F60 is equipped with a message of support for the victims.
From a performance standpoint, the KERS will not be available, to increase reliability and find balance on a still oversteering single-seater; unfortunately, things are not improving and time is passing.
As usual, hope is essential and everything can change very quickly in Formula 1.
Felipe Massa – 15th and 12th:
« We are in a difficult situation technically, but when we think about what happened in the Abruzzo, everything takes on a different perspective. I hope that having ‘Abruzzes nel cuore’ written on the F60 for this weekend will bring some support to the victims of the earthquake.
Regarding the championship, the fight for the title is increasingly compromised with our current problems. We have little support and therefore little grip, and we are forced to operate without the SREC this weekend. We know we have to work harder to get back to the level.
Kimi Räikkönen – 11th and 14th:
« The car’s balance is not bad, and we don’t feel the absence of the SREC. We must try to improve the car: at the moment, we are not able to fight for the title. We must not give up the fight, and the entire team is working tirelessly to get back to the level. It’s not easy, but our group is strong, and we know what needs to be done to get out of this situation. As for the tires, it seems that the Super-soft compounds work better than in Australia; we will know more tomorrow. »
Stefano Domenicali – Director:
« President Montezemolo made a point of giving a sign of support to all those who experienced this tragedy [the earthquake], and we are proud that our cars carry a message of support. »
« Throughout the day, we have been productive, but the performances are not there yet. We are trying to do our best, but without the KERS [KERS], it is clear that we are losing some efficiency and the first indications are that we are not seeing an improvement in balance. Let’s not forget, it was designed to carry this system. We are in a difficult situation, and we must try to stay calm and work hard on all fronts.
