Friday: Force India seems to be improving session after session

Adrian Sutil, one of the two Force India drivers, had a very good day of testing as he was very close to the top 10 by the end of the afternoon. His teammate, Giancarlo Fisichella, had more difficulty this Friday. He finished beyond 17th place.

Force India is still looking to score its first point in a race and is tied in the championship with Ferrari. For now, the Indian team has no particular problems and seems less troubled by the tires.

Adrian Sutil – 14th and 11th:

« It’s a change to be here at this time of year. We usually have around 30 degrees here and today the temperatures were cooler. It’s much easier to drive even if the tires take a little longer to heat up. The hard tires are good over the length, but very unstable over a single lap. The super-soft ones, on the other hand, perform very well on a lap, but are very bad on long runs. We have completed our work and the overall balance is good. I am satisfied with my position, I think it’s a good start. »

Giancarlo Fisichella – 17th and 20th:

« I am not particularly happy with the way the day unfolded. The car’s balance is not satisfactory at the moment. Right now, we don’t have any problem with the tires with these temperatures, everything is okay. We have some ideas on what we can do in the race. I think we will improve for tomorrow. »

Dominic Harlow – Chief Race Engineer:

« The weekend results will depend on the use of dry tires. Our program will reflect that this Friday. We have tried a lot of things in a structured test setting on the VJM02. It was reliable. The track was very green today, hence low grip was observed, but it will evolve over the next two days. It will be another tight qualifying session tomorrow. »
