The successes celebrated by the new Brawn GP team will be a blessing for Formula 1 this year, according to reigning world champion Lewis Hamilton.
The McLaren driver believes that the former Honda team has shown a very promising testing pace in Barcelona and Jerez. He would be more than happy to see them accomplish a great season.
« It’s great to see Brawn GP succeed like this, » stated Lewis Hamilton.
« They must have gone through a very difficult time during the winter, but it’s great to see them come back thanks to a high-performance car. Jenson and Rubens deserve it a lot because they are great drivers, » said the Briton.
The Anglo-Brazilian duo experienced two frustrating seasons in 2007 and 2008, with only 20 points between them over the two seasons.
Button was more than relieved to hear about the acquisition of Honda by Brawn earlier this month.
« Staying at home thinking I wouldn’t be racing in 2009 was very hard for me. I did a lot of fitness to not think about it. I want to prove that I can win races with Brawn GP, and there is a strong possibility that this will happen in the near future, » said Jenson Button.
