The Austrian Grand Prix renews its contract with F1 until 2030
The Grand Prix of Austria and Formula 1 have signed a new agreement this weekend in Spielberg, at the Red Bull Ring circuit, to allow the Austrian track to remain on the F1 calendar for an additional 4 years compared to the existing contract.
The Formula 1 and the promoters of the Spielberg circuit (Projekt Spielberg) had already signed an agreement for the period 2024-2027, but it has been extended for an additional 4 seasons. The circuit will be present until 2030 on the F1 calendar.
The 4.3 km circuit has been present in F1 since 2014. With very few turns, it is a layout appreciated by F1 drivers and it is the Red Bull driver, Max Verstappen, who has won the most here, on three occasions.
Oliver Mintzlaff, the director of the Spielberg Circuit Promoter, is delighted with this opportunity: « It’s great news for everyone. The circuit will be strengthened in the long term thanks to this extension, and it’s always a spectacular event with a superb atmosphere. »
Formula 1 has been in the habit of renegotiating promoter contracts at the Grand Prix venue itself for a few seasons now, with Stefano Domenicali often traveling when a contract needs to be negotiated. While the Austrian Grand Prix had already secured its spot until 2027, the contract has ultimately been renegotiated until 2030.
On the lands of Red Bull, fans are flocking here in Austria. The stands are particularly filled with Dutch fans who have come to support the two-time reigning world champion driver, Max Verstappen.
Red Bull organizes new animations during the Grand Prix, making it one of the most exciting events for fans.
