Simulation: Comparing Perez, Leclerc, and Alonso’s qualifying runs in Jeddah
A simulation demonstrates the performance difference of Sergio Perez's Red Bull, on pole in Jeddah, compared to the lap achieved by Charles Leclerc, the second best time in these qualifications, and that of Fernando Alonso, the third best time.
It can be seen through this simulation that Perez’s Red Bull made the difference, especially in the second sector.
It is noted that the three single-seaters are visually very close, but the Ferrari seems to be quite agile everywhere, although it is distanced on straight lines, being a victim of significant drag and a lower top speed.
Beyond the different single-seat cars, the Aston Martin, Ferrari, and Red Bull are all powered by different engines and have different energy recovery systems.
And yet, three drivers, in three different cars equipped with different engines, find themselves within a hair’s breadth after 6 kilometers.
