The McLaren MCL60 will be unveiled by the papaya team this Monday, February 13, 2023 at 6pm French time. The team will present, as last year, its single-seater with its two drivers from its headquarters, the McLaren Technology Center in Woking.
The McLaren will be called the MCL60 in 2023. This refers to McLaren’s 60 years of existence. Although the acronym MCL, which refers to McLaren, will remain in the name, we will break the usual pattern to celebrate McLaren’s 60th anniversary, explains the statement.
« In this honor, we have announced that the 2023 race car will be called MCL60. The MCL60 will be a tribute to the past and future of the McLaren brand, so that the inspiration of our founder, Bruce, is in each of our future drivers.
Although the first McLaren F1 was called M2B, traditionally McLaren’s names started with MP4 until 2017 when the team changed it to MCL.
