The Abu Dhabi Grand Prix is the last race of the season and it’s an opportunity to see the latest developments on the 2022 cars as well as the latest graphics, whether on the single-seaters or the helmets.
McLaren is the first team to unveil a special livery and has been one of the most active teams in terms of liveries this season. Teams have battled to meet the minimum weight requirement demanded by the F1 2022 regulations and have therefore mostly prioritized a maximum amount of raw material (visible carbon) instead of the usual sleek designs.
For Abu Dhabi, McLaren’s papaya orange colors will always be present, along with the raw carbon, as the weight has not been reduced yet. However, designs are emerging to celebrate its electronic cigarette sponsor. Black, blue, and violet graphic lines are added to the side pods of the car.
The design is signed by the artist Anna Tangles who specializes in black line art on a white background.
