GQ crowns Max Verstappen Male Athlete of the Year

The American magazine GQ awards each year prizes for Men and Women of the Year. This year, it is Max Verstappen who is crowned Male Athlete of the Year, just after winning his second Formula 1 World Championship title. This is Max Verstappen’s first cultural/pop magazine cover.

The last Formula 1 driver to be featured on the cover of GQ was Lewis Hamilton, at the end of 2020 after securing his 7th world championship title. He was deemed the “Game Changer” of the year. However, this was in GQ UK edition, not GQ USA like in the case of Max Verstappen.
